13 Years Later… My New Hairstyle

The year of 2011 has been bumpy to say the least. This season has been difficult, filled with tears and trials, but also filled with God’s grace and sovereignty. This is a season where God is plucking things out of my life to draw me closer to him. It seems like every other week Brian and I are alternating who’s job it is to be the shoulder to cry or lean on. This tough season has been good for our first year of marriage, good for our faith and is storing up Heavenly treasures.  With that said, I had one more big change to add to the list. I cut most of my hair off to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

The last time I cut all my hair off was in 8th grade (13 years ago) and it wasn’t as pleasant an experience as I’d hoped.  So, I’ve pretty much had the same hair style since then. Forever.  I’ve been so grateful to have a head of healthy hair all my life,  I thought I’d finally donate some of it to someone in need.  My new hairstyle was created by the wonderful Annette Jenson at Sweet 200 in Oak Cliff. I’ll admit I was a bit intimidated to walk in there with my preppy attire and one-length, non-dyed hair when literally everyone who works there or is a customer has some sweet rocker chick hairstyle and multiple colors of the rainbow flowing through their hair.  However, from the moment I walked in to the moment I left (probably a couple pounds lighter), I had a wonderful experience. Everyone there is so friendly and their space is quite inspiring. I would highly recommend getting a new do from Annette any day.

Here are some shots of me before and after. And my 4 creepy pony tails that will be donated to someone who needs it more than me.
